Queer Vision

Queer Vision, a Mini Film Festival now in its third year, will open with an amazing programme of short films from across the world on Friday, June 3rd at 6pm at Garter Lane Arts Centre.

The prizes on the night will be Best Overall Production, Best LGBTQIA+ Representation, Best Irish Production, and our Audience Award, which will be determined by an audience vote on the night.

The festival aims to thematically explore the various dimensions of gay existence, including films about the issues that LGBTQIA+ siblings experience in Ireland and throughout the globe.

Pride of the Déise highlights Irish LGBTQIA+ filmmakers and filmmaking skills at our Pride event.

The full shortlist and running order will be posted HERE by June 1st. This event is for people 18 and up. Attendance is free, but you should sign up early to avoid being disappointed.

About Pride of the Déise

Pride of the Déise is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led community organisation based in Waterford City.

A celebration of Waterford’s inclusion and diversity, Pride of the Déise promotes Waterford City as a safe place for everyone. A mixture of speakers, workshops and performances culminates in a Pride festival that everyone can be proud of and benefit from.

Our third annual event takes place this June bank holiday 2022.

Following on from the success of previous year’s online festivals, we are now looking forward to bringing a programme of in person events to the heart of Waterford City this year.
