Jack Cunningham Productions are delighted to return to Garter Lane with the classic Broadway hit:

Chicago

It would be criminal to miss it!

Nightclub star Velma’s serving time for killing her husband and sister after finding the two in bed together. Driven chorus girl Roxie’s been tossed in the joint for bumping off the lover that she’s been cheating on her husband with. Not one to rest on her laurels, Velma enlists the help of prison matron Mama Morton and slickster lawyer Billy Flynn, who turn Velma’s incarceration into a murder-of-the-week media frenzy, thus preparing the world for a splashy showbiz comeback. But Roxie’s got some tricks of her own up her sleeve…

It’s been 27 years since Bryan Flynn staged Chicago with Stage Fright and it’s sure to make a welcome return to the stage with a wonderful cast featuring Ray Collins (Amos Hart), Tom Rogers (Billy Flynn), Anne-Marie Collins (Matron ‘Mama’ Morton), Jennifer White (Velma Kelly) & Emma Walsh (Roxie Hart) who are backed by an astoundingly talented cast of singers & dancers. Chicago features songs like ‘All That Jazz’, ‘Cell Block Tango’, ‘Razzle Dazzle’ and many more. This joyous, upbeat score will have you doing the Charleston in your seats.

Jack Cunningham Productions are proud to present the legendary tale of two rival vaudevillian murderesses who find themselves locked up in Cook County Jail. Full of the glitz and glam of the 1920s, Chicago is criminally good. Juxtaposing violence with glamour, love with lust, darkness with bold, bright show lights, Roxie Hart must work her way through the devilish story to become a star, whereas Velma Kelly is fighting to reclaim this status after a fall from grace. Shining a spotlight onto corruption and celebrity, Jack Cunningham Productions cannot wait to blind you with these showtunes.

With 3 sell out concerts and last year’s hit production of ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ under their belt, it’s no doubt they will dazzle the Waterford audience with this pulse racing, extraordinary musical. Everyone involved is extremely excited and can’t wait to bring this wonderful musical to the people of Waterford after 27 years.
